On November 5, the Chattanooga History Center honored John P. Franklin, Sr. with the 2014 Chattanooga History Makers Award. This short documentary honors Mr. Franklin's contributions to the city and details his 60+ years of service as an educator, business leader and government official. In 1971, John made history as the first black elected official in Chattanooga post-Jim Crowe era.
